

The AMVETS Department of Pennsylvania is now sponsoring the National A.A.D.A.A. Program. AMVETS Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse. All work must be submitted to the Sponsoring Post in time to insure that ONLY First Place Winners are able to be brought to the March SEC, NO LATER than 6:00 PM on
Friday night or mailed to:
Luke Moyer 435 Peacock Street Pottsville, PA 17901 Judging for the Department First, Second, and Third Place Winners will be
completed at the March SEC. At this time, First Place Winners will be
forwarded to AMVETS National Headquarters. Department awards will be a $75.00 for First Place, $50.00 for Second
Place and a $25.00 for Third Place. An A.A.D.A.A. entry form must accompany all entries or they will not be considered. Posters may be no larger than 11 1/2 x 15 inches on standard construction paper. Student’s name and grade must be on the reverse side along with an official entry form. Stories and poems must be submitted on lined or unlined paper, on one side of the paper only. Student’s name and grade must be on a cover sheet along with an official entry form. All pages must be numbered and stapled. The theme for the 2007 - 2008 program is “Users are Losers”. Kindergarten through Second Grade Poster Third Grade through Fifth Grade Poster Sixth Grade through Eighth Grade Story or Poem Ninth Grade through Twelfth Grade Story or Poem Essays submitted by 6th through 8th grade students must be 250 words or less; 9th through 12th grade students must be 350 words or less. If any school wishes to participate in the A.A.D.A.A. program and does not have a Post Sponsor, they may judge their entries and mail their First Place, Second Place, Third Place winners and applications to the above name and address. First place winner will then be forwarded to the State Department for competition. With this procedure the local awards will not apply. Luke Moyer AADAA Chairman
